What I help with

Every kid gets there on their own schedule. Some just want a hand along the way.

If something about the way your child moves has been sitting at the back of your mind, that's reason enough to ask. Here's what I see most.

  • Tummy time they absolutely hate
  • Late rolling, sitting or crawling
  • Low muscle tone

How it works

Three steps, and the first one's free.

1

A quick call

Fifteen minutes on the phone. You tell me what you're noticing, I tell you honestly whether physio is the right call, and if it isn't, who to see instead. No charge, no pressure.

2

I come to you

A full movement assessment on your own floor, with your kid's own toys, in the room where they actually play. You'll finish the session knowing what I found and what we're working toward.

3

A plan that fits real life

Sessions plus a home program built from stuff you're already doing: bath time, the walk to daycare, the couch. We track milestones together and adjust as they grow.

Where we meet

Therapy works better in the room where the problem actually happens.

A kid who can climb the stairs in a clinic can't always climb the stairs at home. I'd rather see the real ones.

At home

The most popular choice. Your living room, your stairs, your bathtub, exactly the places your child needs to master.

Most families start here

At school

Sessions during the school day: gym, hallway or yard. I coordinate with teachers and the school team so everyone's pulling the same direction.

Coordinated with staff

At daycare

For little ones already in care, sessions happen right at the garderie, so there's no extra trip in your day, and the educators see exactly what to reinforce.

No extra trip for you

Pricing

Right here on the page, because you shouldn't have to call to find out.

Start here Full assessment $250

A complete movement assessment in your own space, including a written report with my findings and your child's home program, yours to keep and to share with your doctor or school.

Follow-up · 60 min $150

The standard follow-up session. Hands-on work, progress checks against the milestones we set, and an updated home program.

Short follow-up · 30 min $80

Where a shorter visit is the better call: younger babies, quick progress checks, or kids whose attention span is served better by half an hour.

The 15-minute intro call is genuinely free, and there's no pressure to book afterward.
Every child starts with the full assessment. The written report is included in the price, not an add-on.
I'll recommend the 30- or 60-minute follow-up based on what your child actually needs, not the other way round.
You get a receipt after every session for private insurance reimbursement.
Travel across the Greater Montreal area is included. Ask about your neighbourhood.

Aliza Sarah Friedman, pediatric physiotherapist

About

Hi, I'm Aliza Sarah, but most people call me Sarah.

I'm a licensed physiotherapist in Montreal with over ten years in pediatrics, and kids are the only people I treat. That's on purpose: a four-month-old with torticollis and a fifty year old coming back from surgery need completely different hands.

I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Touro College in Manhattan, then spent three years at a pediatric outpatient clinic in Chicago treating children from birth to twenty-one: developmental delay, stroke, cerebral palsy, torticollis and autism. I've since come home to Montreal, where I work with kids in their houses, their daycares and their schools.

I'm a stubborn advocate for evidence-based practice. Every plan I write is grounded in current research, and I'll happily coordinate with your pediatrician, OT or school team so everyone's pulling the same direction. The best part of the job is still watching a kid do the thing they couldn't do last month.

Outside of work you'll find me with my family, staying in with a good book, or out on a walk.

Parent voices

What families say afterwards.

“She had our daughter rolling both directions within a month, and taught us the exercises so well we actually kept doing them.”
Parent · Outremont
“Her coming to the house changed everything. Our son was calm, on his own mat, and he actually joined in.”
Parent · Westmount
“She worked directly with his school so the same plan was happening five days a week instead of one.”

Questions

Before you call.

Do I need a doctor's referral?
Nope. In Quebec you can book a physiotherapist directly. That said, some private insurance plans want a referral before they'll reimburse. Worth a quick check with your provider first.
Which areas do you cover?
The Greater Montreal area: Outremont, Westmount, Côte Saint-Luc, Hampstead, TMR, NDG, the West Island, Kahnawake and the surrounding communities. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask and I'll tell you straight away.
What should I have ready for the first visit?
Very little. Clear a bit of floor space, put your child in comfy clothes they can move in, and keep a few favourite toys nearby. Bring any recent medical reports if you have them, but don't delay booking to chase paperwork.
Is it covered by insurance?
Physiotherapy isn't covered by RAMQ in private practice, but most private and employer plans reimburse a portion. I provide a receipt after every session with everything your insurer needs.
How many sessions will my child need?
It depends on what we find. Some babies with torticollis need a handful of visits; a child working on coordination may benefit from a longer stretch. After the assessment I'll give you a realistic range, not an open-ended commitment.
Do you work in French?
Yes. Sessions, reports and school communication in English or French, whichever suits your family.
